more nurses wanted in KSA

The Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is in urgent need of female nurses to fill up some 1,000 positions in its government hospitals, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administrator said.

Whoa! This could be a nice news for those who are qualified, and if you are lucky to be one of them, go try your luck! And if you're not, well, wait until you get your turn.

It's nice to know we now have a new title—Philippines: the nation of slaves. Funny!

Students take up a degree in nursing only to be slaves abroad, but hey, they earn big so they don't care! Aren't we supposed to look at this from a rather conventional yet very direct angle? we are losing quality manpower. Yes! Even those that we send abroad are gradually losing working quality. why? Because we go for easier alternatives. Take nursing, most Filipinos would rather take up a 6-months crash course on being caregivers. Instead of sending quality nurses to mend patients, we send away mere trainees who are not even guaranteed to have really learned something from the packed training.

This happens to our other workers as well. Instead of 1-2 years training, TESDA has reduced he length of training to months for Weilding, construction works, and the related fields. We are also in the backlog of quality workers in the field of tourism and hospitality. Instead of sending quality HRTM grads, since we go for fast penny, we opt for the short-term courses so we can earn fast. So what happens? Instead of attending to the needs of tourists abroad, they become sluts!
