mining played puppet by Politicians

A high ranking public official uncovers a rather inconvenient truth: Politicians behind the Mining industry.

Famed as the new mining capital of the Philippines, Caraga region reportedly harbors half of Mindanao’s total mineral deposits. It is believed to have immense deposits of nickel and chromium ores and to house $2 billion worth of gold deposits—a great sum for an equally great venture! But wait until you learn to whose hands the great sum goes and to what venture it is used.

A high ranking official of the Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group (PASG) in the Caraga revealed Saturday that politicians were behind the unabated smuggling of minerals out of the region, as what came out of the agency’s continuing investigation of mineral smuggling in the region, which is composed of the mineral-rich provinces of Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte and Dinagat.

And this form of money filtering is expected to increase as the election draws near. A group of small scale mining corporations have been under investigation for being doubted as smugglers of mines abroad. The profit? of course it goes to the politicians who are using them as covers for their "income generating projects".

Miners are everywhere in our country, and we can't let them on the loose especially if they are chased by greedy people with big pockets to fill in their butts. Contrary to what most think, the revenue we get from the mining sector in very meager. Out of 100 percent expected revenue, only 25 percent goes to government coffers because of smuggling, and of this 25 percent, imagine how much would be left for the people if our politicians mess their hands up with it.
